Modern Restorative Work

Fillings & Restorations

Tooth-colored composite restorations that blend seamlessly into your natural smile. We use modern bonded composites that hold up to lake-country eating habits — and look nothing like the silver fillings your dentist placed in 1985.

Why composite, not amalgam

Modern bonded composites match your tooth color exactly, preserve more of your natural tooth structure than older silver fillings, and don’t expand and contract with temperature changes. They’re what we’d want for our own teeth — and our own kids.

What the visit looks like

Most fillings take about an hour from the first numbing pinch to the final polish. We’ll check your bite carefully before you leave, because a filling that’s a quarter-millimeter too tall can show up as a headache by Tuesday.

Replacing older restorations

If you have older silver or composite fillings that are starting to show wear, leak, or develop tiny cracks at the margins, we’ll usually flag it during a routine exam. There’s no urgency in most cases — but small restorations age, and replacing them on your schedule beats replacing them in an emergency.

Bonded composites — quiet, conservative, and built to last.
